Traindriver Captain here, The problem ia most Railways calculate theyr driving time from A to B according to good weather(so good traction on the rails) if its wet or ici,god almighty you gonna have a hard time keeping a Train going sometimes. SBB in Switzerland often has some spare time calculated in the driving time. Gives you space to breath as a driver sometimes :)
