Effective and a bargain!
these filters are an effective bargain in taking out junk like chlorine from city water. I need pure as can be water for my vegetable crops and not kill the microbiology in the soil. I have been using these filters for a whole year now and I would say that all my plants are doing so much better than before. I have had more fruit, vegetables, flowers, and nice green growth than ever before. I know these filters work because my son uses them for his garden and the bump up in healthy plants has been tremendous! We have noticed the difference!

Before and after photo of water!
I just installed this on a spigot in my horse barn and I'm impressed already! The house water is taken care of with a water system, but the barn water always had iron in it. The iron got worse since the pressure tank was replaced in the house to the point where water was cloudy brown with sediment floating in i! Had a water company come out and test the water, said the barn water is fine for the horses but if we wanted to get all the iron out of it we'd have to replace/upgrade the system in the house to the tune of $2600. Also said this sometimes happens when a pressure tank is replace, it may or many not settle in a few months. So I went and put one of these little filters on the spigot, figure for $15 it was worth the shot. Granted it probably isn't taking all the iron out, but at least the water is clear now and no chunks of sediment floating around! I made my husband taste the water after I put the filter on (LOL), he said it still has a metallic taste to it.... but oh well, makes me feel better that my horses are at least drinking clear water with not so much iron in it now. Attached is before and after photo of the water.

Awesome filter! Nasty campground water no longer...
I have run these for years in my RV and they work killer! Here's some more in-depth thoughts: Pros: - These work better than I had expected. Just hook them up to the water source, hook your hose to it, run it to your trailer and viola` clean and good tasting water. Some of the places we have visited have had water that I wouldn't feed to my worst enemy. With this thing attached, it's very good tasting. - I like the hose attachment that comes with this to aide in adding flexibility to the system and not put too much strain on the system. I have bought so many of these, I now use one attaching the filter to the nozzle, one out of the filter to my hose, and one attaching my hose to the trailer. Notes: - I will note that the manufacturer suggesting using these for only 1 camping season, and this makes sense. That's what I do, and it seems to work out great. It's not too much $ to replace every season. - Another note, when first putting this filter into service (just the first time of the season, subsequent hook-ups wont do this) there will be a bunch of carbon (black in the water) that comes out of the faucet in your trailer. This is perfectly fine, safe, and of no issue. This is the filter breaking in and getting the extra carbon out of the system. There is no health concern with this happening. I just run the faucet until it clears up, and then we're good to go for the rest of the season. - Last note, when we unhook from our camping spot, I swing the filter in my hand with my arm extended (using centrifugal force, not centrifical, look it up) to get the residual water out of the filter so it doesn't sit in there and spoil. I do this until I get most of the water drops to stop, leave it out on the counter to dry, and boom, it's perfect the next time. Cons: - None to report Overall this filter does a great job taking care of some seriously nasty campground water that we've encountered all over the Southwest US. I cannot recommend it any higher. Very reliable filter!
Works great in our 5th Wheel RV which we live in full time. We daisy-chain two to get a better taste as the well water we usually use is VERY smelly with sulpher. One trick we discovered: We found that we still have a sulpher smell after several hours of not using water. After running water for a few minutes the smell went away. We suspect that the sulpher percolates to the "top" of the water chain - meaning, our RV is the highest point on the property so since sulpher in this form is a gas, it tends to go to the top. The Answer is to either run the water for a few minutes each time, or use water bottles and fill them up after someone takes a shower each day. This works really well for us. There are other brands out there, but we've determined that the more expensive ones don't work better than these do. There are bigger versions from other brands, but far more expensive. These provide enough flow to allow us to take showers just like they weren't there. Additionally, since we live in our RV full time, we go through these fairly quickly. Pros: - Work like they are supposed to. - Last reasonably long depending on current water quality. 1 - 3 months if using every day. - Will remove strange smells if used as noted above. - Versatile and easy to install. - Have bought many from different sources and they all worked - not one bad unit. - Flow is not restricted enough to notice. Cons: - One is often not enough for bad water. (Common with other brands too).

Chlorine taste removed just like that!
This water filter is not to make non potable water potable but to improve the taste of water. It functions very much the same as a brita filter on a sink or a pitcher that people use in their homes. We are very happy with this purchase for our RV as the water where we are at you can smell the chlorine in. It literally smells like bleach water on some days. Once installing this there is a huge improvement in taste. We do not have any leaking either. We use it in conjunction with a pressure regulator and a hose elbow on our RV to make sure we don't have kinked hoses or pressure problems. Will be purchasing more of these in the future as it wears out.

Works well
I needed these to water my garden. I attached it to the end of the hose and connected my irrigation lines to the end of my water filter and it was as easy as that. Dont forget to attach it to the end to the hose and run the water til it becomes clear. There was a substantial amount of carbon that flooded out when I did mine. Would have hated that to be in my tap water or go thru my irrigation lines to potentially clog them up. I assume that with only 2 watering cycles of 10 min a day this should last me from a goood amount of time. My plant all seem healthy and happy and are growing like wildfire. note: I only wanted to make sure to clean out the chlorine in my garden

Decent filter bring spare O rings
Leave a comment if you have any questions and I can either take some photos or give more details. I used this for one camping season in my RV and can report no issues. I suggest keeping a few extra Hose O rings packed just in case you loose one. I lost one on the first trip of the season and ended up needing to use a spare to be able to fully hook up at the site. Do follow the instructions and allow water to run through it for a couple minutes to get all the carbon dust out. The water will initially run very black until it's cleared the dust out. For storage I use a 15 quart hefty latching lid tote. It allows me to store this and my 25' clean water hose separate and protected from anything during storage and transit. I keep my Y adapter and PSI regultor in this same tote. When I get home I open the tote, prop up the filter in the tote to help with draining and then just pour the water into the yard when it's done draining. My camp setup is; RV > right angle adapter > water hose > filter > PSI regulator adapter > hose Y adapter > and then site spigot. My photo isn't the best shot of the setup I could have gotten but I also chose it because of the family of deer in the background. I have not used the spring adapter but have it packed in my "Travel RV tool kit" in case I need it. My only concern would be durability if dropped. I think the chance of it cracking would be more during removal then attaching as it would be heavier with water still inside it. I do plan on buying this product again when I need another.

Why should the RV campers be the only ones with clean water?
First off, don't be fooled by the most common use, you ARE allowed to use these if you are tent camping in the campground as well! We are spoiled to a nice whole house filtration system, and find it odd that the water supplies at campgrounds tend to be of typically poor quality, high in iron content, and heaven knows what else.... We picked one of these up along with a pressure regulator, and a potable water hose. I mean why should the RVers be the only ones in the campground with safe water? The stress relief hose is nice to keep tension off the plastic body of the filter. Construction is as good as any other mass produced inline filter, except this one has hose thread ends instead of standard pipe thread. In testing at my local park (prepping for a camping trip), we have found the brownish iron laden water has been turned clear no problems. If I had a test kit to verify exactly how clean the water gets, and how lousy it started out I would give you data, but I don't have that available... The specs are pretty good though, and I can believe the water is drinkable at this point... One suggestion for transport though. Keep this separate from anything dirty, you do not want to contaminate your filter, hose etc... I got one of those nylon laundry bags, which I line with a sanitary white kitchen trash bag, the filter, regulator, stress relief hose and drinking hose go in the trash sack, and that all goes into the nylon laundry bag before it gets packed away for transport. This is ESPECIALLY important for RVs where the water supply, and sewage hose are stored in the same compartment!

Great filter, but no spot free washing with it.
I wanted to give this 4 stars as I was hoping to be able to pull out ALL of the HARD WATER for washing my car with. Those types of units are much more expensive, this did help quite a bit, but was not spot free. I know it's not advertised for this use so I gave it all 5, as it does seem to do what it's intended for. Was just hoping I could get a spot free wash from it. Solid design well packaged.

Great water filter for the money
Nice water filter. I have used this several times now and each time I get a very consistent taste in the water. On each time I have tasted the water before running it through this filter directly from my fresh water hose and each time after the filter was in place the taste of the water was very close to each other. I do not taste any chemical or mineral taste in the water. When I am done with it I make sure to drain as much of the water back out of it before putting it up for storage. As with any filter I always run water through it for a very minutes before using the water on initial hook up. Pros: 1. Very good filter quality 2. Easy to Use 3. Well Made Wish: Nothing wrong with it as far as functionally goes, but I do wish that it had a case to store it in to keep it clean and protected, but I knew that it did not when purchasing it so I do not see this as a con.
